I am Neil Keskar, a 71 year old, retired, IT consultant. I obtained my Batchelor of Arts degree, with Honours, a couple of decades ago in 1980. During my time as an OU undergraduate, there was of course, no opportunity to familiarise oneself with Java, - the technology having emerged in the mid-90s. However, as an IT practitioner, I have had a fair amount of Java experience in my work as a developer. Since retirement, I have endeavoured, as best I can, to keep my Java skills up-to-date, - using "free open source" Java tools such as Tomcat. I find myself quite attracted to the MCT-Mass-Writing project, partly because of its unusual nature but partly also because of my own desire to do something worthwhile with my Java and writing skills.
